European, Dutch and Student Competition
For the European Competition we accept short fiction, documentary, animation and art films that have been made in (geographical) Europe. The films are eligible for the Go Short Award for Best European Short in three different categories.
The Dutch Competition is a selection of films made in the Netherlands, from which the best film will be awarded with the Go Short Award for Best Dutch Short.
Go Short is a recognized film festival for the Academy Awards, the European Film Awards and the BAFTA.
The Student Competition will consist of short fiction, documentary, animation and art films made in European film schools. The best film will be awarded with an Encouragement Award. Go Short is recognized by the Student Academy Awards. Please find the rules here: https://www.oscars.org/saa/apply
All films in the European, Dutch and Student Competition are competing for the Audience Award.
Deadlines
- 26 November 2021 for all films completed on or after 1 December 2020
- 24 December 2021 for films that have been completed in November or December 2021
Virtual Reality exhibition and Music Video Competition
Go Short accepts international VR-films and other interactive projects for their yearly showcase, and music videos for the Music Video Competition*. More information can be found in the regulations.
Deadline: 1 Januari 2022
* since last years mv competition was cancelled due to Covid-19, Go Short accepts music videos from the last two years (produced after 1 December 2019).
