Short Film Competition - Regulations
Short film has its own formal, aesthetic and expressive qualities distinct from those of the feature. Short Film Competition offers a platform for short film directors to exchange visions and ideas.
HKIFF is included in the Academy Award® Short Films Qualifying Festival List. The Firebird Award of the Short Film Competition will be eligible for Oscar® submission. Rules & Eligibility: https://www.oscars.org/oscars/rules-eligibility
- Films must be completed after 1st January 2024.
- Films that have not been shown publicly in Hong Kong nor online prior to the Festival.
